SpiceJet Runs 13 Special UAE Flights Due To Middle East Tensions
SpiceJet launches 13 special UAE flights Thursday to assist passengers affected by West Asia conflict.
Amid ongoing disruptions to air travel caused by the US–Israel–Iran conflict in the Middle East, SpiceJet has announced it will operate 13 special flights from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday (March 5, 2026) to help passengers stranded due to widespread flight cancellations and airspace closures. The operations are part of emergency repatriation efforts by Indian carriers as regional tensions continue to disrupt normal schedules.
According to an official statement quoted by Indian news agencies, 12 of the 13 flights will depart from Fujairah International Airport, while one flight will operate from Dubai. The routes are set to land in Mumbai and Delhi, with the airline planning seven flights to Mumbai, five to Delhi and one Dubai‑to‑Mumbai service on Thursday.
These flights follow a series of similar operations earlier in the week. On Tuesday and Wednesday, SpiceJet operated 12 special flights from Fujairah to bring back passengers to Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai and Kochi. The latest deployment reflects a sustained effort to address travel challenges facing Indians and other international travellers following the collapse of regular flight services across the Gulf region.

The heightened conflict has led to extensive airspace closures across West Asia, prompting airlines worldwide to cancel or reroute flights as safety concerns mount. Major hubs such as Dubai International Airport and surrounding airspace have at times restricted operations, leaving thousands of passengers stranded in cities across the Middle East. Aviation authorities and carriers have been coordinating repatriation and limited commercial services via alternative airports such as Fujairah, Muscat and salting safe flight corridors.
Indian carriers, including SpiceJet, IndiGo and Air India, have been among the most active in arranging such flights, combining charter services and scheduled alternatives where possible to reconnect affected travellers with home destinations. In addition to the UAE operations, other services from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman have been reshaped in response to evolving airspace restrictions.
Passengers seeking these special flights are advised to contact the airline directly for booking availability and travel advisories. Authorities have also recommended that travellers stay updated on flight schedules and regulatory changes, as the situation remains fluid amid ongoing geopolitical tensions that continue to shape global aviation operations.
