PM Modi and President Murmu extend Eid-ul-Adha greetings and emphasize brotherhood, harmony, and unity.
Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu extended Eid-ul-Adha greetings to citizens across the country on Thursday, highlighting the values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity associated with the festival. Leaders from across the political spectrum shared messages promoting peace, brotherhood, and social harmony on the occasion.
Prime Minister Modi conveyed his wishes through social media platform X, saying the festival should strengthen happiness and mutual respect in society. He prayed for everyone’s success, prosperity, and good health, while stressing the importance of togetherness and harmony during the celebrations of Eid-ul-Adha, also known as Bakrid.
President Murmu, in her message, described Eid-ul-Adha as a symbol of devotion, sacrifice, and service to humanity. She especially highlighted the need to support underprivileged communities and encouraged citizens to work towards building a society rooted in love, harmony, and compassion. Her message focused on unity and collective responsibility.

Mallikarjun Kharge also greeted the nation on the occasion and said the festival reflects timeless values such as faith, forgiveness, and compassion. He urged people to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and continue working towards peace, social harmony, and shared national progress.
Eid-ul-Adha is one of the most significant festivals in Islam and is observed worldwide by Muslims. The festival commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command, symbolizing faith and devotion. It also coincides with the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca and is marked by prayers, charity, and community gatherings.
