Teen dies after car hits two-wheeler following dispute.
An 18-year-old girl was killed and another teenager critically injured in an alleged road rage incident in Chennai after a dispute between two groups at a private bar escalated into a fatal collision. The victim, identified as Yancy, a Sri Lankan refugee residing in Villupuram district, died at the scene after a car allegedly rammed the two-wheeler on which she was travelling.
According to police, the incident began inside a private bar where Yancy and her friends were spending the evening. A confrontation reportedly broke out between their group and another group of men. Bar security personnel intervened twice—once inside the establishment and again outside—in an attempt to defuse the situation before both groups were asked to leave the premises.
Investigators said the dispute continued after the groups left the venue. As Yancy and her friends travelled away on a two-wheeler, they allegedly encountered the rival group in a car. Preliminary findings suggest that stones were thrown at the vehicle, further escalating tensions and culminating in the alleged collision that claimed Yancy's life. Her 17-year-old companion suffered severe injuries and remains under medical treatment.

The incident has also raised questions about compliance with regulations governing entertainment venues. Authorities have sealed the private bar after allegations that minors, including Yancy, were allowed entry to the establishment. The alleged violation has drawn scrutiny from law enforcement officials and could result in further action against those responsible for operating the venue.
Yancy's family has called for strict punishment against all those involved in the incident. The case has reignited concerns over road rage-related violence and public safety, with renewed attention being directed toward enforcement measures at nightlife establishments and the need to prevent disputes from escalating into deadly confrontations.
