Bryan Johnson’s $2 Million Experiment: How This 48-Year-Old’s Body Matches an 18-Year-Old’s Vitality
Bryan Johnson touts teen-level health stats after extreme anti-aging regimen.
Bryan Johnson, the US Tech Entrepreneur, claims at 48 that his body functions like an 18-year-old's due to a strict regimen of sleep, nutrition, exercise, and cutting bad habits. He spends $2 million annually on diagnostics, treatments, and a meticulously crafted lifestyle focused on slowing and potentially reversing aging. Despite these internal health markers, he acknowledges that external appearance "de-aging" remains out of reach for now.
Johnson shares that his key health biomarkers place him in the top percentiles for muscle mass, bone density, vascular health, fertility, and blood sugar control compared to 18-year-olds. For example, his fertility markers are better than 99% of men, and his telomeres resemble those of a 10-15-year-old. He attributes his youthful biological function to an 80/20 approach: focusing on solid sleep, nutrition, exercise, and eliminating unhealthy habits. He confronts doubts by noting that his body performs essential functions naturally, much like an 18-year-old's would.
While Johnson's internal biological age is significantly younger, he states that facial aging is harder to reverse due to structural changes like collagen loss, fat pad atrophy, bone shrinkage, and accumulated UV damage. These issues cannot currently be "de-aged," though some cosmetic procedures can mask them temporarily. Johnson candidly shares that his pursuit of longevity sometimes feels excessive and exhausting, noting that managing his extensive regimen on travel is challenging and that at times he contemplates scaling back.

His groundbreaking longevity project, called Blueprint, involves detailed medical monitoring with a team of specialists, cutting-edge diagnostic scans, and strict diet and lifestyle rules. He reportedly runs regular tests such as blood work, colonoscopies, and MRI scans to track his progress. While some experts say the results so far are modest but promising, Johnson is committed to disproving the notion that aging is an irreversible decline. His ultimate goal is to extend healthy life span dramatically—potentially making death optional—although he acknowledges the science is still emerging.
In addition to biological enhancements, Johnson's routine includes a calorie-restricted vegan diet, a compressed eating window before 11 a.m., daily exercise including high-intensity workouts, over 100 supplements daily, and even experimental therapies like blood transfusions from younger donors. Despite the complexities and costs, he openly shares his data and regimen to inspire others toward better health while continuing to push the boundaries of human potential against aging.
