Amitabh Bachchan Opens Up About Work-Induced Sleepless Nights, Reveals Classical Music as His Cure

Amitabh Bachchan reveals work causes sleepless nights; he shares classical music as his soul-soothing remedy for insomnia.

Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has revealed that hectic work commitments are affecting his sleep schedule, prompting him to turn to classical music as a source of comfort during restless nights. The actor shared his thoughts through a late-night blog post, where he candidly spoke about struggling to maintain proper sleep while balancing professional responsibilities. Known for regularly interacting with fans through personal reflections online, Amitabh described music as a healing force that helps him relax after long working hours.

In the blog entry posted during the early hours of Tuesday morning, Amitabh admitted that work often takes precedence over rest despite medical advice recommending adequate sleep. The actor reflected on how demanding schedules and continuous engagements frequently keep him awake through the night. He acknowledged that health experts advise at least seven hours of sleep for the body to properly recover, grow and repair itself, but noted that professional obligations sometimes make it difficult to follow such routines consistently.

Explaining how he copes with sleeplessness, Amitabh said he listens to soothing classical music, particularly slide guitar and sitar-based meditation compositions, during silent late-night hours. According to the actor, the calming melodies provide mental peace and gradually help him drift into sleep. He described the experience as deeply spiritual and emotionally grounding, adding that music serves as a connection between the soul and a higher power. The actor further expressed admiration for the universal nature of musical notes, saying they unite people across cultures and regions.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the franchise emerged as one of Indian cinema’s biggest commercial successes after the first installment crossed ₹1,000 crore worldwide.
