Alia Bhatt Teams Up with Shaheen to Produce ‘Don’t Be Shy’ for Prime Video

Actor Alia Bhatt has joined hands with her sister Shaheen Bhatt to produce a new feature film titled Don’t Be Shy for Prime Video. The announcement was made on Friday through a light-hearted promotional video shared by the streaming platform on Instagram. The project marks another milestone in Alia’s growing journey as a producer.
Don’t Be Shy is being produced under Shaheen Bhatt’s banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions, and is Alia Bhatt’s third film as a producer. She previously backed the critically acclaimed Darlings and the 2024 thriller Jigra. The film is co-produced by Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani.
Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the film centers on Shyamili “Shy” Das, a 20-year-old woman who believes she has her life completely mapped out. Her worldview is challenged when unexpected events force her to reassess her ideas about love, friendship, and adulthood. The narrative explores a young woman’s emotional journey through a coming-of-age lens.

In the announcement video shared by Prime Video, Alia and Shaheen are seen humorously discussing their script selection process. After reviewing multiple action-heavy scripts, the sisters ultimately choose Don’t Be Shy, highlighting the film’s fresh perspective and relatable storytelling.
Speaking about the project, Alia Bhatt said the story immediately resonated with the team due to its sincerity and emotional depth. She praised director Sreeti Mukerji’s passion and noted that Prime Video’s commitment to bold and distinctive storytelling made it the ideal platform for the film. According to Alia, Don’t Be Shy is a deeply personal and special project for Eternal Sunshine Productions.
