PM Modi Offers Prayers at Ram Mandir During Surya Tilak on Ram Navami

PM Modi participates in Surya Tilak ceremony at Ram Mandir, praying for India’s welfare and spiritual guidance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday witnessed the sacred ‘Surya Tilak’ ceremony of Ram Lalla at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on the occasion of Ram Navami. Observing the event on screen, the Prime Minister offered prayers for the well-being of the nation, highlighting the spiritual and cultural significance of the festival.

Ram Navami, which celebrates the birth of Lord Ram—the seventh avatar of Vishnu—is observed during the nine-day Chaitra Navratri. The festival is regarded as a time to reflect on values such as truth, compassion, and righteousness, which Lord Ram exemplified throughout his life.

Earlier, PM Modi extended greetings to citizens across India, expressing hope that Lord Ram’s blessings would guide the country toward becoming a “Viksit” (developed) and “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India). In a message posted on X, he wrote, “From the life of Maryada Purushottam, filled with sacrifice, austerity, and restraint, we draw inspiration to confront every situation with our full strength.”

The Prime Minister added, “His ideals will continue to guide not only the people of India but all of humanity for eternity. My wish is that by the grace of Lord Ram, the welfare of all may be ensured, paving the way for the fulfilment of our resolve for a Viksit and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”

The Surya Tilak ceremony, in which a beam of sunlight is precisely directed onto the idol’s forehead, holds deep spiritual significance and has become a major attraction for devotees visiting the Ram Mandir. The event gained wider attention following the temple’s inauguration in 2024, when the first Surya Tilak drew large crowds and was livestreamed for devotees worldwide.

Lord Ram is widely revered as a symbol of righteousness, truth, and duty. His life continues to inspire millions to follow ethical conduct and moral values, and celebrations like Ram Navami serve to reinforce these ideals, reflecting India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
