Tej Pratap: Ready to Back NDA or Anyone Ending Bihar’s Job Crisis
Tej Pratap Yadav open to post-poll tie-up with anyone who creates jobs and stops Bihar migration.
Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav, son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and contesting from the Mahua seat, indicated a possible post-poll alliance after the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections held on November 6, 2025. While he refrained from naming any party, Tej Pratap emphasized his support would go to whoever addresses “real issues,” creates employment, and halts migration from the state.
When asked about backing the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Tej Pratap stated, “We will support whoever gets a majority and forms the government, as long as they work for the people.” The election’s second phase is scheduled for November 11, with the counting of votes on November 14.
Tej Pratap, who is at odds with his former party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and has ruled out returning to it, faces off against sitting RJD MLA Mukesh Raushan in Mahua. His campaign highlights a desire for change and development, resonating with voters amid a record voter turnout of 64.66% in the first phase — a significant rise from the 56.1% turnout in 2020.
