Nifty Advances Past 24,250 In Pre-Open, Sensex Up Over 300 Points

Nifty crosses 24,250, Sensex rises over 300 points in pre-open

Indian equity benchmarks signalled a strong opening on Friday, with the Nifty 50 crossing the 24,250 mark in the pre-open session, while the BSE Sensex rose more than 300 points, reflecting early positive sentiment on Dalal Street.

The upbeat start comes after a volatile previous trading session, where markets struggled to hold gains amid profit booking and global uncertainty. On Thursday, both indices ended marginally lower after fluctuating through the day, indicating cautious investor behaviour despite intermittent buying interest.

Early signals suggest that investors are responding to a mix of global and domestic cues. Optimism around easing geopolitical tensions, including ceasefire developments and potential diplomatic progress, has supported sentiment, while softer crude oil prices remain a positive for India’s macroeconomic outlook.

However, caution persists in the market due to mixed corporate earnings and global uncertainties. Weak forecasts from some major companies and concerns over sustained foreign investor flows have tempered bullish expectations, even as domestic institutional buying provides support.

Sectorally, early trends indicate selective buying in IT, metals, and energy stocks, while banking and financial stocks may remain under pressure following recent weakness. Analysts note that broader market participation will be key to sustaining the rally beyond the opening momentum.

As trading progresses, investors will closely watch whether the Nifty 50 can hold above the 24,200–24,250 range. Sustaining these levels could pave the way for further upside, while any reversal may signal continued volatility in the near term amid evolving global and domestic triggers.
