Gold Rate Today: 24K, 22K and 18K Prices Across Cities

Gold prices fall today across Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and other cities.

Gold prices in India declined on Tuesday, July 28, with rates falling across all major purity categories compared to the previous day. According to market data, 24-carat gold is priced at ₹14,417 per gram, while 22-carat gold is available at ₹13,215 per gram and 18-carat gold at ₹10,813 per gram. The decline follows easing global market concerns, which temporarily reduced demand for the safe-haven precious metal.

The price of 24-carat gold fell by ₹169 per gram compared to July 27. Similarly, 22-carat gold declined by ₹155 per gram, while 18-carat gold dropped by ₹126 per gram. Gold prices in India are influenced by international bullion rates, fluctuations in the US dollar, import duties, domestic taxes and changes in investor sentiment.

The revised rates are reflected across major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad and Jaipur, although slight variations may occur depending on local taxes, transportation costs and jewellers' making charges. Consumers are advised to verify the latest rates with local jewellers before making purchases, as prices can change several times during the trading day.

Gold continues to remain one of India's preferred investment and savings instruments, particularly during the festive and wedding seasons. While short-term price movements are driven by global economic developments, interest rates and geopolitical factors, domestic demand also plays a significant role in determining retail prices across different regions of the country.

Market analysts noted that easing global uncertainties contributed to the latest decline in bullion prices, although investors continue to monitor inflation trends, central bank policies and international economic developments. Any significant change in these factors could influence gold prices in the coming days, leading to further fluctuations in domestic markets.

As of July 28, the benchmark gold prices in India stand at ₹14,417 per gram for 24-carat, ₹13,215 per gram for 22-carat, and ₹10,813 per gram for 18-carat gold. Buyers planning jewellery purchases or investments are encouraged to compare prices across retailers and account for additional charges such as making fees and applicable taxes before completing their transactions.
