Britannia Industries Q1 Results Show Profit Growth And Rs 5,000 Crore Revenue

Britannia posts Q1 profit and revenue growth.

Britannia Industries reported a steady performance in the first quarter of financial year 2026-27, with consolidated net profit rising 13.4% year-on-year on the back of revenue growth and improved operating margins. The FMCG major posted a net profit of Rs 591 crore for the June quarter, compared with Rs 521 crore in the same period last year.

The company’s profit, however, was slightly below market expectations, with analysts tracked by Bloomberg estimating a net profit of Rs 606 crore. Revenue from operations increased 8.2% year-on-year to Rs 5,000 crore, compared with Rs 4,622 crore in the year-ago quarter, broadly matching the Street estimate of Rs 4,999 crore.

Britannia’s operating performance also showed improvement during the quarter, with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rising 11% to Rs 840.4 crore from Rs 757.2 crore in the previous year period. Despite the growth, EBITDA remained below analysts’ expectations of Rs 871 crore.

The company’s EBITDA margin expanded by 40 basis points to 16.8% from 16.4% a year earlier, indicating better operational efficiency despite continued pressure from input costs. However, the margin performance was lower than the estimated 17.4% expected by analysts.

The results highlight Britannia’s ability to maintain growth momentum in a challenging consumer environment, supported by steady demand and cost management measures. The company continues to focus on strengthening its portfolio and improving operational efficiency to navigate changing market conditions.

Britannia Industries announced its quarterly results after market hours. The company’s shares closed 0.66% lower at Rs 5,404 per share on Thursday. The stock has declined 2.18% over the past week and 0.93% in the last one month, while it remains down 10.08% on a year-to-date basis and has gained 0.03% over the past year.
