Bengaluru Man's Emotional Post on Why Buying a Home Beat Renting
Bengaluru techie's viral post on buying versus renting a home.
A Bengaluru tech professional’s home-buying journey has struck an emotional chord online after he shared how purchasing a house brought his entire family together. Vishal Sharma posted a video on Instagram describing the day he registered his new home and the experience that made him understand the emotional difference between owning a house and living in a rented one.
In the video, Sharma said that although only his signature appeared on the registration papers, the happiness of buying the home belonged to his entire family. He recalled how his brother, sister and other family members in Bengaluru were present to share the moment, turning what could have been an individual milestone into a celebration for everyone close to him.
Sharma said his parents’ blessings, the excitement of the children and the smiles on the faces of family members made the occasion even more meaningful. As the registration process was completed, he realised that he was not buying the house alone and that his entire family had become part of the journey, sharing the emotions and significance of the achievement.

The experience, Sharma said, helped him finally understand what buying a house made him feel that renting never had. His video focused less on the financial or practical aspects of property ownership and more on the sense of belonging that came with having a permanent place that his family could call its own and celebrate together.
For many families, buying a home can represent more than simply acquiring property. It can also symbolise stability, security and the result of years of effort, while creating a space connected to shared memories and future plans. Sharma’s experience highlighted how such a milestone can bring different generations of a family together around a single moment of happiness.
Sharing the video on Instagram, Sharma described buying the family home as something greater than putting a signature on official documents. He said the clip captured his family’s emotional journey during the registration of their new home and showed how the experience brought everyone together, creating a sense of happiness and connection that he felt renting had never provided.
