PM Modi To Disburse 23rd PM-Kisan Instalment To Farmers Across India

PM to release PM-Kisan instalment benefiting farmers across Gujarat and India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to release the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme on June 20, under which more than 51.28 lakh farmers in Gujarat will receive direct financial assistance amounting to over ₹1,025 crore.

The nationwide disbursement will be carried out from Hooghly (Tarkeshwar) in West Bengal, where the Prime Minister will officially release funds and interact virtually with farmers across the country. According to official data, the total transfer under this instalment will exceed ₹18,880 crore and benefit more than 9.44 crore farmer families across India through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

In Gujarat, the rollout will be marked by a state-level programme titled “PM Kisan Utsav Diwas” at the Town Hall in Gandhinagar. The event will be held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, with Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani and Minister of State Ramesh Katara also expected to attend. The gathering is part of coordinated state efforts to highlight the scheme’s impact at the grassroots level.

Officials said the PM-Kisan instalment will be directly credited into beneficiaries’ bank accounts without intermediaries, continuing the scheme’s focus on transparency and efficiency. Since its launch, the programme has already completed 22 instalments, with over 11 crore farmers receiving cumulative assistance exceeding ₹4.28 lakh crore nationwide.

In Gujarat alone, more than 69 lakh farmer families have benefited from the scheme so far, receiving over ₹23,083 crore in total support. The government has arranged live broadcasts of the Prime Minister’s address at Agricultural Science Centres, market yards, Farmer Producer Organisations, and rural credit institutions to ensure widespread participation and awareness.

Authorities added that the structured rollout is aimed at strengthening last-mile delivery of welfare benefits while improving engagement with farming communities. The initiative continues to be positioned as a key pillar of direct income support for India’s agricultural sector, particularly for small and marginal farmers across the country.
