Iran Claims F-15 Shootdown as US-Israel War Drags World into Second Major Conflict

The video shows a fighter jet in flames as the West Asian conflict enters its third day.

Iran on Monday released a video it claimed shows an F-15 fighter jet spiralling and crashing in Kuwait as hostilities between Tehran and US-backed Israel entered a third consecutive day. The footage surfaced amid rapidly escalating tensions across West Asia, raising fresh concerns about the conflict widening beyond its initial theatres. Iranian authorities asserted that their forces had shot down the aircraft, though independent verification of the claim was not immediately available.

The visuals circulating online depict an F-15 descending in a slow spiral, with flames visible from the rear section of the aircraft before it disappears from view. It remains unclear whether the jet belonged to the United States or Israel, as both countries operate variants of the F-15 fighter platform. Neither Washington nor Tel Aviv had immediately confirmed the loss of any aircraft at the time of reporting.

Media reports citing preliminary information indicated that the pilot ejected safely before the crash. There were no immediate details about the pilot’s identity, condition, or the precise location of the incident within Kuwaiti territory. Kuwaiti authorities had not issued a formal statement confirming the crash or addressing the claims made by Iran.

The development comes as the broader confrontation between Iran and Israel intensifies, with exchanges of missiles and air strikes reported in multiple locations across the region. The conflict has heightened fears of a wider regional war, potentially drawing in additional international actors. Global markets and diplomatic channels have been closely monitoring the situation amid concerns of further military escalation.

Military analysts note that claims made during active conflicts often require careful scrutiny, as information warfare plays a significant role alongside battlefield operations. Until official confirmation is provided by the countries involved, the circumstances surrounding the reported F-15 crash remain uncertain. The situation continues to evolve as governments and defence establishments assess the unfolding events.
