Yash praises Nayanthara's sisterly bond in Toxic

Yash and Nayanthara shared a warm moment at the trailer launch of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups in Bengaluru on Saturday, with the two actors praising each other’s work and on-screen partnership. Yash described Nayanthara as the “most badass sister anyone could have” while speaking about her contribution to the film. The actors play siblings in the upcoming film, making their camaraderie at the promotional event particularly significant. Nayanthara’s presence at the trailer launch also surprised fans and those attending the event, as the actor is known for making relatively few appearances at promotional programmes.

Yash expressed his gratitude for her decision to attend and praised the commitment she showed towards the project despite difficulties surrounding dates and scheduling. He said she had given the film her best and added significant value to her character. Yash recalled that there had been some complications with Nayanthara’s dates when the film was being made, but said she remained committed to the project. He praised her performance and the charisma she brought to the role, describing her appearance and character as “badass”.

Since the two actors portray siblings in Toxic, Yash’s comments also offered a glimpse into the dynamic audiences can expect from their characters when the film reaches theatres. The admiration was mutual, with Nayanthara using the occasion to speak highly of Yash and his approach to his work. She said she had worked with several actors and established stars during her career, but described her first impression of Yash as particularly striking. According to the actor, the larger-than-life persona associated with Yash on screen was also evident when she met him away from the camera.

She also praised his work ethic and the manner in which he manages the expectations that come with his status as one of the biggest stars in the South Indian film industry.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups brings Yash and Nayanthara together in a story that has generated considerable interest because of its ambitious scale and star cast.
