Vijay Deverakonda Says His Bond With Sandeep Reddy Vanga "Beyond Friendship"

Actor Vijay Deverakonda has described his long-standing relationship with filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga as a bond that goes beyond a conventional friendship. Speaking at the pre-release event of Romanchakam, where he attended as the chief guest, Vijay recalled the difficult period when the two were working to bring Arjun Reddy to the screen. He said the experience created a lasting connection between them that has continued despite their growing success in the film industry.

Vijay said both he and Vanga were taking a significant risk when they began working on Arjun Reddy. At the time, neither had the money, fame or industry influence they would later acquire. Vijay also pointed out that he did not yet have an established fan base, as Pelli Choopulu had not been released. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the project, the actor and director continued with their plans and eventually made the film that became a major turning point in both their careers.

The actor also recalled the support provided by Vanga's family when the project was still considered a gamble. He expressed gratitude to Pranay Reddy Vanga and Sandeep's father for backing the film financially, including through the sale of agricultural land. For Vijay, the significance of that period went beyond the commercial success and recognition that followed. He said the experiences and conversations he shared with Sandeep while making the film have remained with him throughout his life.

Vijay made it clear that his support for Vanga is not based simply on their professional association. He said he would go to any extent for the filmmaker and believes Vanga would do the same for him. Explaining his presence at the Romanchakam event, Vijay said he could not refuse Sandeep's invitation. His comments highlighted the personal trust that developed between the two after their collaboration on Arjun Reddy, which established them as prominent names in Telugu cinema.

The actor also spoke positively about Romanchakam lead actor Sumanth Prabhas, recalling that he had noticed the youngster's passion for cinema. Vijay said he had always felt that Sumanth had the potential to become either an actor or a director. He has also supported the film during its promotional campaign and extended his wishes to Sumanth, Ananthika Sanilkumar, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Pranay Reddy Vanga and the rest of the team ahead of the film's release.

Romanchakam is directed by debutant Venugopal Reddy and features Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Sanilkumar in the lead roles. The film combines romance, comedy and suspense and is being presented by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, with Pranay Reddy Vanga producing it under Bhadrakali Pictures. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on September 3, with Vijay's comments adding to the promotional attention surrounding the project and highlighting his continued association with the Vanga family.
