Shahneel Gill Eliminated From The Traitors 2 Following Tanya Puri's Question

Shahneel Gill, one of the prominent contestants on The Traitors 2, has been eliminated from the reality show after a strategic move by detective Tanya Puri brought attention to an inconsistency in her account. Gill, who had been playing as a Traitor, had earned praise from fellow contestants and viewers for her strategic approach to the game. Her eviction has nevertheless triggered a debate online, with some viewers describing it as karma while others questioned the circumstances of her elimination.

The turning point came during the Circle of Shaq, when several contestants were already discussing their suspicions about Krystle D’Souza. Rhea began by raising doubts about Krystle, after which Tanya questioned both Krystle and Shahneel about letters they had received earlier that morning informing them that they had been saved. Krystle was able to recall the contents of her letter, while Shahneel said she did not remember everything written in hers. The difference immediately drew attention from the other contestants.

Shahneel attempted to explain that she simply had a poor memory and maintained that forgetting the contents of the letter did not prove that she was a Traitor. However, the explanation did not persuade enough contestants, who ultimately voted against her. Tanya’s questioning therefore became a decisive moment in the episode, as the focus shifted from the suspicions surrounding Krystle to Shahneel herself. The elimination ended Shahneel’s run despite her having played a significant role in the season’s Traitor storyline.

Following her elimination, Shahneel received praise from several contestants for her performance. Rhea described her as a “boss woman”, while Mallika Sherawat praised her as one of the best Traitors in the show’s history. Krystle and Shalini Passi also acknowledged her gameplay. While leaving, Shahneel spoke positively about her experience, saying she had enjoyed the game and formed meaningful friendships, while jokingly referring to herself as “the most innocent traitor”.

Her eviction also generated a strong reaction among viewers on social media. Some described the outcome as “karma”, pointing to Shahneel’s attempts to target fellow Traitor Krystle during the game. Others argued that her elimination was unfair and questioned whether the show’s circumstances had contributed to the outcome. Some viewers also alleged that the programme was scripted or biased in Krystle’s favour, although such claims were presented as audience reactions rather than established facts.

The Traitors 2 features two groups of contestants, with Innocents attempting to identify and eliminate the secret Traitors while the Traitors work to conceal their identities and remove the other players. The second season premiered on Prime Video in India on August 13, with new episodes released every Thursday. Shahneel’s elimination adds another major twist to the season, while the debate surrounding her exit is likely to keep attention focused on the remaining contestants and their strategies.
