Rajamouli Unveils ‘GlobeTrotter’ as Mahesh Babu’s Next Epic

First Look Teases Mythic Adventure in November 2025

Acclaimed filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli set the internet ablaze on Mahesh Babu’s 50th birthday by announcing the title of their much-anticipated collaboration, previously known as SSMB29, as GlobeTrotter. The reveal, shared via Rajamouli’s X handle, included a striking teaser poster showcasing Mahesh Babu’s rugged chest adorned with a pendant featuring Lord Shiva’s trishul and Nandi, hinting at a blend of mythology and adventure.

Rajamouli promised a “never-before-seen” reveal in November 2025, emphasizing the film’s vast scope. “The story is so expansive that mere pictures or press conferences won’t do it justice. We’re crafting something to showcase its essence and immersive world,” he wrote, addressing global cinema lovers and Mahesh Babu’s fans. Mahesh Babu echoed the excitement, sharing the poster with a caption: “Thank you for all the love. I’m eagerly waiting for November 2025 to enjoy the reveal with you all. #GlobeTrotter.”

Described as a global jungle adventure, GlobeTrotter promises high-octane action across exotic locations, with Mahesh Babu undergoing rigorous training for a physically demanding role inspired by Lord Hanuman. The film, penned by Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad, also stars Priyanka Chopra as an intrepid explorer and Prithviraj Sukumaran as a high-tech antagonist, with R. Madhavan reportedly playing Mahesh’s father. Production began in January 2025, with a Tanzania shoot scheduled for August to capture large-scale action sequences.

While some reports suggest an alternate title, Gen 63, tied to Mahesh’s character as the 63rd generation of a revered lineage, Rajamouli’s consistent use of #GlobeTrotter across posts leans toward it being the official title. Rooted in Ramayana and set in ancient Kashi, the film blends Indian mythology with sci-fi elements, aiming for a summer 2027 release.

Following the global success of RRR, Rajamouli’s GlobeTrotter is poised to redefine Indian cinema’s scale, with fans already predicting it could surpass box office giants like Baahubali and Dangal.
