Pregnant Samantha Ruth Prabhu Reveals How She Filmed 'Maa Inti Bangaaram' Action Scenes Safely
Samantha details safe filming during pregnancy journey.
Director Nandini Reddy has revealed that actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu filmed portions of Maa Inti Bangaaram while she was pregnant, sharing details of the precautions taken on set to ensure the star's health and comfort. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Reddy said the production team carefully planned the remaining schedule, limiting physically demanding sequences, providing frequent breaks and avoiding shoots under the harsh afternoon sun.
Reflecting on Samantha's return to the big screen, Reddy said the film was designed to reconnect audiences with the actor they have admired over the years. "People have loved Sam for years," the filmmaker said, adding that the team's objective was to present "the Sam they love" and encourage audiences to return to theatres. Maa Inti Bangaaram has been widely seen as an important comeback project for Samantha, who has previously taken breaks from work due to health concerns.
According to Reddy, filming for the movie began in November 2025 and continued for six to seven months, with the production wrapping up in around 54 shooting days. She said most of the physically demanding action scenes had already been completed by the time Samantha learned about her pregnancy. "So, thankfully, we had done away with most of the action portion. We were doing Thassadiya, actually, when I discovered that she was carrying. But thankfully we were at the fag end of filming when she got pregnant," Reddy said.

The remaining schedule included the energetic song Thassadiya and a car chase sequence, both of which required careful planning. Reddy said the production team ensured Samantha was not overexerted during filming. "We took care that it wasn't too strenuous for her and that she had enough breaks. It's also not shot in top sunlight because we were heading into summer while shooting these. We took precautions to ensure she wasn't exhausted too much," she explained.
The director said the crew adapted the shooting schedule to prioritise Samantha's well-being without compromising the film's creative vision. Outdoor scenes were planned during relatively cooler hours, while regular rest periods were incorporated into the schedule to minimise fatigue. These adjustments allowed the actor to complete her remaining portions safely while maintaining the energy and performance required for the film.
Maa Inti Bangaaram marks a significant chapter in Samantha Ruth Prabhu's career, with the actor returning to the screen in a film that celebrates her versatility and screen presence. Reddy's comments offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the production, highlighting the collaborative effort made by the cast and crew to balance filmmaking with the health and safety of the lead actor. The revelations have also underscored the professionalism of the team, which successfully completed the project while ensuring Samantha's comfort throughout the final stages of filming.
