Prabhas and Hanu Team Up to Deliver Back to Back Pan India Hits

Rebel Star gears up for two epic films with Sita Ramam director.

Prabhas, the undisputed Rebel Star of Tollywood, is on a genre-bending spree, fearlessly diving into fresh narratives that blend spectacle, emotion, and historical depth. Fresh off the pan-India juggernauts like Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire and Kalki 2898 AD, the actor is juggling multiple high-stakes projects, with his next big release, the horror-comedy The Raja Saab, primed for Sankranti 2026 festivities. Directed by Maruthi and produced by People Media Factory, the film promises a lighter, laugh-out-loud vibe with Prabhas in a dual role, surrounded by a stellar cast including Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar. Shooting has been a whirlwind, but Prabhas's charisma ensures it's shaping up to be a crowd-pleaser.

Amid this frenzy, Prabhas is deep into his ambitious collaboration with Sita Ramam helmer Hanu Raghavapudi, whose 2022 romantic masterpiece—starring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur—swept awards for its poignant storytelling and Dulquer's National Award-winning turn. Hanu's latest vision with Prabhas is a gripping historical fiction rooted in the turbulent 1940s pre-Independence era, reportedly titled Fauji. This period action-drama casts Prabhas as a fierce soldier in the British Indian Army, navigating loyalty, love, and rebellion against colonial rule. It's a tale of valor and sacrifice, blending high-octane battles with heartfelt romance, all set against the backdrop of India's freedom struggle.

The film's pooja ceremony in August 2024 was a star-studded affair in Hyderabad, buzzing with fan frenzy as crowds chanted "Rebel Star Prabhas Hanu!" Debutante Imanvi, a rising social media sensation known for her graceful dance moves and ethereal beauty, steps into the spotlight as the female lead, opposite Prabhas's rugged warrior. Her chemistry with the star is already generating whispers of on-screen magic. Adding gravitas are Bollywood legends Mithun Chakraborty as a wise mentor figure, Anupam Kher in a pivotal narrative-driving role, and yesteryear icon Jaya Prada bringing emotional depth. Music maestro Vishal Chandrashekhar, fresh from Sita Ramam's soul-stirring score, is crafting an evocative soundtrack with three songs already in the can—expect folk-infused anthems and soulful ballads that echo the era's spirit.

Backed by the powerhouse production house Mythri Movie Makers, Fauji boasts a whopping Rs 400 crore budget, fueling rumors of lavish sets recreating 1940s Bombay, Punjab battlefields, and clandestine freedom fighter hideouts. Shooting kicked off in late August 2024, and as of October 2025, it's 60% complete. Prabhas, ever the workhorse, has wrapped most of his demanding portions while multitasking on The Raja Saab, with just 35 days left for his scenes. If timelines hold, the makers are eyeing a patriotic Independence Week 2026 premiere on August 14—a Friday slot primed for box-office fireworks.

But the real buzz? Reports are swirling that Prabhas is so enamored with Hanu's visionary scriptwriting and nuanced direction that they're plotting a swift encore. This unannounced sequel project could slot into Hombale Films' ambitious three-film pact with Prabhas, hot on the heels of Salaar 2. The first in the deal is the much-hyped Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, directed by Prashanth Neel, set for a 2026 Diwali clash with Ram Charan's Game Changer. The second is a mythic actioner with Prashanth Varma (Hanu-Man fame), while the third—whispered to be Hanu's brainchild—might explore a modern thriller or another historical epic, produced under Hombale's banner known for Kantara and Salaar.

Prabhas's post-Fauji slate is a non-stop adrenaline rush. He'll dive into Spirit, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's gritty cop drama (Animal style), channeling raw intensity. Then comes another round with Prashanth Varma for a superhero saga, followed by Salaar 2 and the dystopian Kalki 2898 AD sequel, Bhairava. With over 10 films in various stages, Prabhas is redefining the pan-India superstar template—mixing mass entertainers with prestige projects that could net him multiple 1000-crore milestones.

Fans are already hailing this Prabhas-Hanu duo as Tollywood's next dynamic pair, blending Hanu's poetic flair with Prabhas's larger-than-life appeal. As Fauji edges toward completion, the anticipation for their potential back-to-back bonanza is electric—could this be the collaboration that cements Prabhas as India's cinematic king? Stay tuned; the Rebel Star's reign shows no signs of slowing.
