Deepika Padukone Responds to Trolls Over Dhurandhar 2 Social Media Silence

Deepika Padukone has hit back at online trolls criticizing her “silent treatment” following the blockbuster success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The film, starring her husband Ranveer Singh, has been breaking records at the box office and is nearing three weeks in theaters. Social media users questioned why Deepika had not shared celebratory posts or reviews after the film’s release.

Responding in the comments section of a viral post, Deepika wrote, “The latter, my friend. P.S.: I watched it way before any of you did. Now who's the joke on?” The post in question mocked her absence from the film’s premiere and her choice to attend a sitar concert with her in-laws instead, suggesting she was avoiding the limelight.

When the first part of the franchise released in December last year, Deepika had publicly praised the film on social media, writing, “Dhurandhar has been watched, and it is worth every minute of those 3.34 hours… So incredibly proud of you @ranveersingh! Congratulations to the entire cast and crew.” Her silence this time, however, sparked curiosity and speculation among fans and critics alike.

Despite not posting about the sequel online, Deepika has been seen supporting Ranveer privately, accompanying him on dinner outings across Mumbai, including cafes and the famous Benne Dosa, along with Ranveer’s father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani. Fans continue to await her social media acknowledgment of the film’s record-breaking success.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge has emerged as a monumental hit, grossing Rs 1,000 crore net in India within 18 days, making it the second-fastest film to reach this milestone after Pushpa 2. The sequel surpasses the lifetime collection of the first Dhurandhar film in just 11 days. Returning cast members include Ranveer Singh, Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal, reprising their original roles.
