Badshah Faces FIR for Allegedly Obscene and Drug-Glorifying Song Lyrics
Badshah’s ‘Tateeree’ faces complaint over obscene lyrics and alleged drug glorification.
Rapper Badshah is facing controversy over his newly released song Tateeree, after a formal complaint was filed with the Punjab Police alleging that the track contains “obscene and vulgar” lyrics and promotes drug use. The complaint, lodged by social activist Kamal Anand and resident Jatinder Kalra from Sangrur, calls for legal action under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
According to the complaint, the song, released around March 1, 2026, has been widely circulated across platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and music streaming services. The complainants claim that several lines in the track objectify women, contain sexually suggestive content, and reference cocaine, which they argue could influence impressionable youth and encourage narcotic consumption.
The complaint highlights that Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, enjoys a massive fan following, particularly among young audiences. Kamal Anand stated that content of this nature, when promoted by a widely followed artist, could negatively impact public behaviour and contribute to the normalisation of drug use.

In addition to summoning Badshah for investigation, the complainants have requested that authorities summon all collaborators involved in the production and promotion of Tateeree. They have also urged the government to direct digital platforms, including YouTube and Spotify, to remove the song from circulation pending inquiry.
Meanwhile, the Haryana Women’s Commission has also summoned Badshah over the alleged objectionable lyrics, with the hearing scheduled for March 13 in Panipat. The complaint and subsequent actions underscore growing scrutiny over explicit content in music and its potential social impact.
As of now, neither Badshah nor his representatives have issued an official statement addressing the allegations, leaving the matter under active investigation by state authorities.
