Akshay Kumar’s ‘Housefull 5’ Surpasses Rs 300 Crore Globally, A Comedy Triumph
Akshay Kumar’s latest comedy caper, Housefull 5, has stormed past the Rs 300 crore mark at the worldwide box office, cementing its status as a blockbuster. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film hit theaters on June 6, 2025, in two versions—Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B—each featuring a unique climax.
The fifth installment of the beloved Housefull franchise, which kicked off in 2010, has grossed over Rs 200 crore nett in India and Rs 300 crore worldwide, according to a press release. Despite mixed reviews, the film’s star-studded cast, including Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Fardeen Khan, Sonam Bajwa (making her Bollywood debut), and others, has drawn massive crowds.
Set on a luxurious cruise ship, Housefull 5 blends slapstick humor with a murder mystery, delivering the franchise’s signature chaos. Its innovative dual-ending format has added intrigue, contributing to its strong performance, making it Akshay Kumar’s highest-grossing film post-COVID, surpassing Sooryavanshi’s Rs 294.91 crore.
