Aamir Khan Talks About Son Junaid Ahead of Ek Din Release; Calls Him 'Lambi Race Ka Ghoda'
Aamir Khan praises son Junaid as an independent, strong-willed actor ahead of Ek Din's release.
Actor Aamir Khan has praised his son Junaid Khan ahead of the theatrical release of Ek Din, describing the young actor as “lambi race ka ghoda", a Hindi phrase used for someone built for long-term success. Speaking in a recent interview, Aamir said Junaid possesses determination, independence and resilience, qualities he believes will help him carve a lasting career in the film industry. The comments come as Junaid prepares for the release of his latest project.
Aamir said Junaid is strong-willed and prefers to make his own decisions rather than rely on family influence. He noted that failures do not discourage him and that he remains honest with himself as an artist. According to Aamir, the same phrase was once used about him during the early stages of his own acting career, making the comparison especially meaningful for the veteran star.
Junaid Khan made his screen debut with the Netflix film Maharaj, which introduced him to audiences as the son of one of Bollywood’s most prominent actors. His first theatrical release, Loveyapa, co-starring Khushi Kapoor, did not perform well at the box office. Despite the commercial setback, Aamir’s remarks suggest confidence that Junaid’s career should be judged over time rather than by early results.

Discussing Ek Din, Aamir praised his son’s commitment to character work and sincerity toward acting. He said Junaid fully embraced the role without attempting to make it appear more glamorous or heroic than written. According to Aamir, that discipline reflects an actor focused on authenticity and storytelling rather than image-building, an approach often respected in the industry.
Aamir also shared a childhood anecdote to illustrate Junaid’s early fascination with cinema and action sequences. He recalled that Junaid enjoyed watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and was particularly drawn to action scenes. Aamir said he once took him to the set of the film Ishq, where he witnessed a stunt involving a car being struck and launched into the air.
The release of Ek Din is being closely watched as another important step in Junaid Khan’s emerging career. Star children in Bollywood often face heightened expectations and scrutiny, making each project significant. With public support from Aamir Khan and renewed attention around his work, Junaid now has an opportunity to build momentum and establish his own identity in Hindi cinema.
