Snake Rescued From Shah Rukh Khan's Bandra Residence Mannat

Non-venomous rat snake rescued from Shah Rukh Khan's Mumbai home

A non-venomous snake was rescued from the premises of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s residence, Mannat, in Bandra West, Mumbai, on Monday evening. A snake rescuer was alerted around 8 pm after two snakes were reportedly spotted moving around the property. The incident prompted a rescue operation involving the rescuer and officials from the Forest Department, while efforts continued to locate the second snake that escaped from the premises.

Snake rescuer Vicky Dubey received information about the snakes and subsequently alerted Forest Department Round Officer Deepak Dada Gaikwad and the Mumbai Range Office in Thane through the department’s control room. When the rescue team reached Mannat, they found one of the snakes hiding under a staircase in the courtyard of the bungalow. The reptile was coiled up and appeared frightened as people gathered around the area.

The rescued snake was identified as a Dhaman, also known as the Indian rat snake, a non-venomous species commonly found in India. According to the information provided by the rescuer, the snake was approximately eight feet long. It was safely captured and later released into its natural habitat in accordance with Forest Department guidelines. Dubey also explained the nature of the snake to people present at the residence and advised them not to panic.

The second snake, however, managed to escape after becoming disturbed by the movement of people around the property. It was reportedly seen along with the first snake before the rescue operation began but could not be located after it moved away from the area. The incident highlights the need for trained personnel to handle snakes found in residential premises, particularly when there is uncertainty about their species or whether they are venomous.

The incident comes after a similar snake rescue earlier this year at the Mumbai residence of actor Salman Khan. A snake was reportedly found at Galaxy Apartment, where Salman lives with his family, and a snake wrangler was called to capture it. The reptile was subsequently handed over to authorities. Such incidents involving snakes at high-profile residences have drawn attention because of the need to safely remove the animals without causing harm to people or the reptiles.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is currently working on his upcoming action film King, which is expected to feature his daughter Suhana Khan in her theatrical debut. The film also has Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal and Jaideep Ahlawat in key roles. King is reportedly inspired in part by the 1994 film Léon: The Professional, with Shah Rukh portraying a veteran hitman who becomes involved in protecting a young girl.
