Sidharth Malhotra's 'The Vvaan' Inches Closer To ₹40 Crore Milestone With Steady Day 4 Numbers

Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia's film The Vvaan collected a net of Rs 5.25 crore in India on its first Monday, according to the industry tracker Sacnilk. The earnings came across 7,012 shows on Day 4 and take the film's domestic net total to Rs 38.85 crore, leaving it about Rs 1.15 crore short of the Rs 40 crore mark. The film, which is based on the Vaan Devi temple in Bihar, had registered a solid opening over its first weekend. The Monday figure is the first real indicator of how the film will fare on regular working days, when audiences thin out and word of mouth begins to matter more than release-week momentum.

Sacnilk's figures put the film's total India gross at Rs 46.35 crore. The gross figure is higher than the net because it includes taxes, whereas net collections are the number the industry most often uses to judge domestic performance. Overseas, The Vvaan added Rs 0.50 crore on Day 4, lifting its total overseas gross to Rs 4.00 crore. Combined, these numbers push the film's worldwide gross to Rs 50.35 crore, crossing the Rs 50 crore threshold within four days of release. The overseas contribution remains modest next to the domestic total, which suggests the film's appeal is concentrated in Indian markets.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh described the film's opening weekend as healthy and said it has had a "dream run" in Bihar, where the story is rooted. He noted that mass circuits across the country have also been very strong, meaning the single-screen and smaller-town theatres that often drive collections for commercial films. Urban centres, particularly multiplexes, also recorded good occupancy on Saturday and Sunday, according to Adarsh. That mix of regional strength and metropolitan turnout is often what allows a film to sustain its numbers beyond the first few days. Adarsh also compared The Vvaan's three-day numbers with Sidharth Malhotra's last three post-pandemic releases.

He said the new film is "much, much ahead" of Param Sundari, which earned Rs 28.48 crore, Yodha at Rs 17.51 crore, and Thank God at Rs 18.25 crore. He noted that the Thank God figure covered Tuesday to Thursday over the Diwali period, so the comparison is not like for like. Even so, the gap suggests The Vvaan has opened well above the actor's recent benchmarks, a notable development for a star whose last few theatrical outings drew more modest returns. The film's Monday collection of Rs 5.25 crore is a marked drop from its weekend earnings, a pattern that is typical for Indian releases as weekday business settles. Earlier reports put the opening weekend at about Rs 33 crore net, meaning the first Monday added roughly a sixth of that figure.

Such a fall is widely expected after a weekend surge fuelled by leisure audiences. The more telling measure is usually the pace of the following days, since a steady Tuesday and Wednesday would indicate that the film is holding its ground, while a sharper slide would point to front-loaded business. The coming days will show how well The Vvaan holds through its first full week. Its performance in Bihar and the mass-market centres will likely be central to whether it can build on the current total, while urban multiplex business may determine how quickly it passes the Rs 40 crore net mark. Collection figures from trackers such as Sacnilk are estimates and can be revised as final data arrives, so the numbers may shift slightly in the days ahead.
