Salman Khan Gives Bold Career Advice To Nephew Ayaan Agnihotri, Urges Fearless Mindset
Salman Khan advises nephew to ignore public criticism.
Salman Khan’s nephew Ayaan Agnihotri has spoken about receiving career advice from the Bollywood star as he begins his journey in the film music industry, saying Khan encouraged him to stay unaffected by external opinions while building his career. Agnihotri, who has made his playback singing debut with the track C’mon Baby from the film Bandar, directed by Anurag Kashyap, described his entry into Bollywood music as “surreal.” The song marks his first major step into the industry and introduces him as a new voice in mainstream Hindi cinema music.
In an interview, Agnihotri said the opportunity came unexpectedly after music producer Nikhil Dwivedi heard him perform at a private gathering. Impressed by his voice, Dwivedi reportedly offered him the chance to record for the film, which Agnihotri said he accepted without any expectations, calling the experience a rare break in a highly competitive industry. Addressing the attention that comes with belonging to the Khan family, Agnihotri acknowledged both the advantages and pressures associated with his surname.
He noted that while family connections can open doors, they also bring heightened scrutiny and expectations from audiences and industry observers. The most striking insight from his interview was the advice he received from Salman Khan. Agnihotri said Khan told him not to be overly concerned about public opinion and to focus on his own work and artistic growth. The message, he indicated, has become a guiding principle as he navigates the early stages of his career in the entertainment industry.

Agnihotri is the son of Atul Agnihotri and Alvira Khan Agnihotri, placing him within one of Bollywood’s most prominent film families. While this background has brought visibility, he said he is determined to carve out his own identity in the music space. Reflecting on his debut, Agnihotri expressed gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized how rare such breaks are in the industry. He said he hopes to build on this beginning by exploring more work in both independent and film music, while continuing to develop his craft as a singer.
