Veteran Bollywood screenwriter Salim Khan was discharged from Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on Monday after spending several weeks under medical care, family sources confirmed. The 88-year-old, known for his iconic work in films like Sholay and Deewaar, had been receiving treatment for age-related health complications.

Khan’s family expressed relief at his recovery, thanking medical staff for their dedicated care. “He is feeling much better now and is back home resting comfortably,” a family spokesperson said, adding that Khan would continue to follow doctors’ advice for post-hospital care.

The screenwriter, who has made a lasting impact on Indian cinema alongside his partner Javed Akhtar, had previously faced health scares in recent years but has consistently maintained a resilient presence in public life.
