Rajinikanth reacts to Jana Nayagan leak, condemns piracy and urges strict action after online backlash.
Veteran actor Rajinikanth has reacted strongly to the online leak of Jana Nayagan, describing the incident as “shocking and deeply distressing” after facing days of criticism on social media for not responding to the piracy issue. The film, starring Thalapathy Vijay, was recently leaked online, triggering widespread outrage across the South Indian film industry.
In a public statement shared on social media, Rajinikanth condemned the unauthorized circulation of the film and urged authorities to take strict action against those responsible. He called on film industry bodies and government agencies to work together to identify the culprits and prevent similar incidents in the future, stating that such crimes should not be allowed to continue.
The actor’s response came after several users online tagged him repeatedly, questioning his silence on the issue while many other celebrities had already spoken out. His statement, however, was seen by some social media users as a delayed reaction, with mixed responses emerging online.
