Torrential rains and widespread waterlogging in Mumbai have disrupted the highly anticipated media tour of the Bigg Boss Season 19 house, originally scheduled for Tuesday, August 19, just days before the show’s premiere. The popular reality series, hosted by Bollywood icon Salman Khan, is set to launch on August 24, 2025, at 10:30 pm on Colors and JioHotstar.
The media junket, which would have allowed journalists from across India to explore the Bigg Boss house, was postponed by the show’s organizers due to the severe weather conditions that have paralyzed the city. The PR team issued a statement addressing the cancellation: “Due to heavy rains and waterlogging in the city, the Bigg Boss house tour and related activities have been put on hold for now. We regret the inconvenience. We will keep you informed on further developments, depending on the situation with the rains.”
The trailer for Bigg Boss 19, released earlier this month, has already generated significant buzz. In it, Salman Khan describes the upcoming season as “crazy” and a “democrazy,” hinting at a unique twist in the show’s format. This year’s theme, Gharwalon ki Sarkaar (The Government of the Housemates), shifts the power dynamics, allowing all contestants to collectively make decisions, a departure from previous seasons where authority typically rested with a single individual. Khan, in the trailer, playfully sings, “Aisa pehli baar hua hai 18-19 saalon mein,” emphasizing the groundbreaking nature of this season.
