Joheirry Mola Of Dominican Republic Wins Miss World 2026 In Vietnam

Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic was crowned Miss World 2026 at the grand finale held in Vietnam, succeeding Thailand's Opal Suchata Chuangsri. Spain's Elisabeth Reynes was named the first runner-up, while Malaysia's Taanusiya Chetty secured the second runner-up position at the international pageant.

The Top 6 finalists represented all four continental regions of the competition. Eritrea's Snit Habteab entered the final group through the People's Choice route, while Reynes represented Europe and Chetty represented Asia and Oceania through the Beauty With a Purpose selection. Vietnam's Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, Mola of the Dominican Republic and South Africa's Romanda Hombir completed the final six.

Mola's performance across the competition earned her a place in the decisive final stage, where the winner and runners-up were selected. Her victory gives the Dominican Republic the Miss World 2026 crown after a competition involving contestants from across the globe. Thailand's Opal Suchata Chuangsri, the reigning titleholder, crowned Mola at the conclusion of the event.

India's Nikita Porwal advanced to the Top 40 but could not secure a place among the Top 20. The Miss India Organisation praised Porwal for her performance and representation of India, noting that her qualification continued the country's streak of placing at five consecutive editions of Miss World.

The 2026 edition was held in Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa province and featured 111 contestants divided into four continental groups — Africa, the Americas and Caribbean, Europe, and Asia and Oceania. Contestants progressed through fast-track challenges and other stages before the field was reduced to the Top 40, Top 20, Top 12 and eventually the Top 6. The edition also marked the debut of contestants from French Guiana, Eritrea, Mozambique, Pakistan and the Maldives.

Miss World was founded in 1951 in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley and is regarded as one of the world's longest-running international beauty pageants. The competition combines preliminary challenges, interviews and live stages, with its Beauty With a Purpose initiative forming a central part of the event. The next edition, the 74th Miss World, is scheduled to be held in Tanzania in East Africa.
