India’s Bravehearts Steal the Show: KBC Spotlights Operation Sindoor Heroes
KBC honors Operation Sindoor’s women heroes in a special Independence Day tribute episode.
In a stirring tribute to India’s armed forces, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, and Commander Prerna Deosthalee captivated audiences on a special Independence Day episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati on August 15, 2025, sharing insights into Operation Sindoor, India’s decisive counterterrorism mission launched in response to the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam terror attack. Hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, the episode highlighted the precision, bravery, and unity behind the operation, which targeted nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on May 7, 2025.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh detailed the operation’s swift execution, noting, “We attacked in the interiors of the enemy to break their backs. Twenty-one terror camps were recognized, nine were finalized, and the game was done in 25 minutes.” The strikes, which crippled key bases of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke, utilized advanced weaponry to ensure zero civilian casualties, reflecting India’s commitment to precision and restraint.
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi elaborated on the strategic targets, stating, “Bahawalpur was the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed, from where terrorists who attacked Pathankot and Pahalgam were trained; Muridke had the headquarters of Lashkar-e-Taiba, where Ajmal Kasab and David Headley were trained.” She also revealed Pakistan’s deployment of 300–400 drones to probe India’s defenses, thwarted by robust army air defense systems.

Commander Prerna Deosthalee underscored the Indian Navy’s critical role, managing trade routes and maritime borders to deter anti-national elements. “Naval warfare is 360 degrees of uncertainty with no room for error,” she said, emphasizing the mission’s significance as a matter of “pride and honor.”
The officers paid tribute to local residents for their rescue efforts post-Pahalgam and mourned the loss of Navy officer Vinay Narwal. Highlighting gender equality, Qureshi noted that over 100 women, trained alongside men, played seamless roles in the operation. “A weapon or a fighter aircraft doesn’t distinguish between males and females,” Singh added, reinforcing the armed forces’ merit-based ethos.
Colonel Qureshi concluded with a powerful message: “You have to trust the Indian armed forces; whenever there is an attack on the country, we have given a stern message to Pakistan, and we will keep doing so.” The episode, blending tales of valor with national pride, underscored Operation Sindoor’s whole-of-nation approach, showcasing India’s advanced technology and commitment to peace while delivering a resolute response to terrorism.
