Govinda's Manager Denies Second Marriage Claims Made by Sunita Ahuja

Actor Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha has denied claims that the actor is planning to marry actor Komal Rani Swarnkar, saying there is no question of a second marriage. The clarification came after Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, claimed she withdrew her divorce petition because she believed Govinda and Komal were planning to get married. The statement has added another twist to the couple’s ongoing marital dispute.

Sinha said he was surprised to hear Sunita’s allegation and insisted that Govinda has no plans to marry anyone else. He maintained that Govinda and Sunita remain married and expressed hope that the couple would resolve their differences. According to him, if Govinda had actually intended to marry someone else, he would have been the one seeking a divorce rather than Sunita. He also said the actor has generally avoided publicly speaking against his wife despite the disagreements between them.

Sunita recently spoke about the matter during a conversation with Rakhi Sawant, claiming that she had withdrawn her divorce case because Govinda and Komal were allegedly planning to marry. Her comments came amid increased public attention on Govinda’s relationship with Komal after the two were spotted together at an airport. Sunita had previously questioned their relationship and referred to Govinda as Komal’s “sugar daddy” while speaking to paparazzi.

The dispute has also seen Govinda respond publicly to Sunita’s remarks. The actor had warned her against making defamatory comments and asked her to remain within limits while speaking about him in public. He also alleged that a section of the film industry was attempting to target him. The increasingly public nature of the disagreement has kept the couple’s personal issues in the spotlight.

Govinda and Sunita married in 1987 and have two children. Sunita filed for divorce in 2024, with the petition reportedly citing allegations including adultery, cruelty and desertion under the Hindu Marriage Act. However, she recently withdrew the petition at the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai. Govinda’s manager confirmed the withdrawal and said the legal proceedings that had continued for around two years had now come to an end.

Sinha has appealed for the situation to settle, particularly for the sake of the couple’s children. He said both Govinda and Sunita are mature individuals and should ideally resolve their differences privately. While Sunita’s allegations have raised questions about Govinda’s relationship with Komal, his manager has categorically rejected the suggestion that the actor is preparing for a second marriage.
