Emraan Hashmi Hints At 'Awarapan 3' Fueling Speculation About The Sequel

Emraan Hashmi hints at Awarapan 3.

Emraan Hashmi has sparked speculation about a possible third instalment of the Awarapan franchise after interacting with fans during a special screening of Awarapan 2 in Mumbai. The actor, who returns as Shivam Pandit in the sequel, suggested that the future of the franchise could ultimately depend on the audience's response to the latest film. Emraan attended the screening alongside his Awarapan 2 co-star Disha Patani, where the two actors interacted with moviegoers and discussed their reaction to the sequel.

The interaction took place during the interval, giving fans an opportunity to hear directly from the actors about the latest chapter in the franchise. Addressing the audience, Emraan emphasised the importance of fans to the Awarapan series. He said the franchise belonged more to its audience than its makers and explained that the sequel had attempted to make the journey more thrilling by adding greater action and emotion.

“This is a film which belongs to fans more than the makers, isiliye hum wapis aaye abhi,” Emraan said, explaining that the filmmakers returned because of the enduring connection audiences have with the franchise. He added that the latest chapter was designed with more action and emotional moments, suggesting that the team wanted to build on the elements that made the original memorable. Emraan also told the audience that the film would soon be out of the makers' hands and would belong to viewers.

“Friday ko bas humare haath se nikal gayi aur aapke hawale,” he said, meaning that once the film reaches audiences, their response will determine how it is received. The remarks have fuelled speculation about whether the franchise could eventually continue with Awarapan 3. However, Emraan did not formally announce a third film or confirm that development had begun. His comments instead placed emphasis on the audience's response, leaving the possibility open without committing to another sequel.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Films, Awarapan 2 brings Emraan back to the character of Shivam Pandit, whom he first played in the 2007 film Awarapan. The return of the character has generated interest among fans of the original, particularly those who have followed Emraan's association with the franchise over the years. The sequel expands the franchise with a new chapter featuring Emraan and Disha Patani, while retaining the emotional and action-oriented elements associated with the series.

The actors' interaction at the Mumbai screening provided fans with an early opportunity to share their reactions directly with the cast. For now, the possibility of Awarapan 3 remains unconfirmed. Emraan's comments, however, indicate that the audience's response to Awarapan 2 could play an important role in determining whether the story continues. If the sequel connects strongly with viewers, the actor's latest remarks may prove to have been an early hint about another chapter in Shivam Pandit's journey.
