Television and film actress Ankita Lokhande has found herself at the center of an online debate after sharing photographs from her Abu Dhabi vacation with husband Vicky Jain. A section of internet users criticized the actress for wearing a hijab and questioned whether she had converted to Islam. Several comments on the post expressed disappointment and sparked debates around religion and celebrity influence. Some users also compared the situation with how celebrities from other faiths portray cultural practices online.

Ankita Lokhande became a household name through her portrayal of Archana in the popular television serial Pavitra Rishta, where she starred opposite late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. She later moved into films with appearances in projects such as Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Baaghi 3 while also becoming a familiar face on reality television. Ankita married businessman Vicky Jain in December 2021, and the couple frequently shares glimpses of their travels and personal life on social media.
