Amitabh Bachchan Teases Preity Zinta On KBC 18 Over Unanswered Birthday Wishes

The premiere episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 opened with plenty of nostalgia, laughter and playful banter as Amitabh Bachchan welcomed Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta and Aamir Khan to the quiz show. The trio appeared on the opening episode in connection with their film Batwara 1947, with Aamir attending as the film’s producer. During the conversation, Bachchan turned his attention to Preity Zinta and brought up a long-standing complaint about her birthday replies.

Bachchan told Zinta that he regularly wished her on her birthday but claimed she had never responded to his messages. With his trademark humour, the veteran actor said, “Aap se humein ek complaint hai. Complaint yeh hai ke hum aapko 31 January ko birthday wish karte hain. Aapne humein ek baar bhi jawab nahin diya.” His playful accusation immediately set up a humorous exchange between the two actors, who have shared a warm professional equation over the years.

Zinta was quick to defend herself and offered an equally amusing explanation. Addressing Bachchan as “Amitji”, she replied, “Nahin Amitji, aisa nahin hai. Main aapko jawab deti hoon, par ek hafte baad.” In other words, she insisted that she does respond to his birthday wishes, but admitted that her replies can arrive about a week later. Her response turned Bachchan’s complaint into a light-hearted moment rather than a serious grievance.

Wherever you are, since you have refused to reply to my sms.... ha ha ha... A very happy birthday... love and happiness.” The playful evidence prompted another round of laughter during the episode.

The exchange was one of the lighter moments from the opening episode of KBC 18, which brought together three major names from the film industry. Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta appeared as part of the promotional appearance for Batwara 1947, while Aamir Khan joined them as the producer of the film.
