The actress made the revelation during the premiere episode of Lock Upp Season 2, where she disclosed that the couple has been living separately for the past year. Her announcement comes nearly two months after reports of trouble in their marriage had surfaced, which had previously been dismissed.
Akanksha's candid revelation came during a segment of the reality show in which contestants were asked to share a personal secret. Her statement surprised the audience as well as the show's hosts, Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh. "Me and Gaurav are getting a divorce. We have been living separately for the last one year, and it's not been public," she said, confirming for the first time that the couple had quietly decided to part ways after spending over nine years together as husband and wife.
Despite announcing their separation, Akanksha stressed that the decision was mutual and not driven by conflict or animosity. She explained that she and Gaurav continue to maintain cordial relations and remain in touch despite living separately. "Things are not bad between me and Gaurav. We still talk to each other. We don't think we are compatible as partners because we both see a very different future. And, unfortunately, it's not with each other," she said during the episode.
