Akanksha Chamola Confirms Divorce From Gaurav Khanna After Year of Separation
Akanksha confirms divorce after living separately from Gaurav for a year.
Television Actress Akanksha Chamola has confirmed that she and actor Gaurav Khanna are heading for divorce after more than nine years of marriage, bringing an end to months of speculation surrounding their relationship. The actress made the revelation during the premiere episode of Lock Upp Season 2, where she disclosed that the couple has been living separately for the past year. Her announcement comes nearly two months after reports of trouble in their marriage had surfaced, which had previously been dismissed.
Akanksha's candid revelation came during a segment of the reality show in which contestants were asked to share a personal secret. Her statement surprised the audience as well as the show's hosts, Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh. "Me and Gaurav are getting a divorce. We have been living separately for the last one year, and it's not been public," she said, confirming for the first time that the couple had quietly decided to part ways after spending over nine years together as husband and wife.
Despite announcing their separation, Akanksha stressed that the decision was mutual and not driven by conflict or animosity. She explained that she and Gaurav continue to maintain cordial relations and remain in touch despite living separately. According to the actress, the couple realised they were no longer compatible as life partners because their personal goals and visions for the future had diverged. "Things are not bad between me and Gaurav. We still talk to each other. We don't think we are compatible as partners because we both see a very different future. And, unfortunately, it's not with each other," she said during the episode.

The couple had long been regarded as one of television's well-known pairs, and reports of a possible separation had periodically surfaced in recent months. However, neither Akanksha nor Gaurav had publicly acknowledged any marital issues until her appearance on Lock Upp Season 2. By choosing to address the matter openly on national television, Akanksha brought clarity to the speculation while emphasising that their separation has remained respectful and free of public disputes. Neither the actress nor Gaurav has disclosed whether divorce proceedings have been formally completed.
The announcement has drawn significant attention from fans and the television industry, with many expressing surprise at the couple's decision to end their marriage after nearly a decade together. While celebrity separations often become the subject of speculation, Akanksha's remarks focused on mutual understanding and personal compatibility rather than assigning blame. As both actors continue with their professional commitments, their decision to part ways amicably reflects an effort to handle a deeply personal matter with dignity and respect, while requesting privacy during this transition in their lives.
