Newlyweds Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna personally met Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of their wedding to invite him to their Hyderabad reception, sources told NDTV. The meeting took place on February 21, 2026, and the photographs of the couple presenting the Prime Minister with a shawl as a mark of respect went viral shortly after their intimate wedding ceremony in Udaipur on February 26.
The couple, dressed in a simple yellow salwar suit and an all-white ensemble respectively, met PM Modi in Delhi to extend the invitation for their wedding and the subsequent reception scheduled in Hyderabad on March 4. The meeting followed a congratulatory letter from the Prime Minister sent on February 25, in which he offered his blessings to the newlyweds and their families.
In the letter addressed to Vijay Deverakonda’s parents, PM Modi wrote: “It is a pleasure to be invited by you to the wedding of Vijay and Rashmika… Heartiest congratulations, and greetings to the Deverakonda and Mandanna families on this truly joyous and auspicious occasion.” He added that the couple, “having taken seven steps together, become friends for life” and wished them a future filled with shared dreams, love, and mutual understanding.

The wedding ceremony took place at Mementos by ITC Hotels, Ekaaya, designed to be private and intimate, attended only by close family and friends. The couple officially announced their nuptials on Instagram, naming their union “The Wedding of VIROSH” in honour of the affectionate name given to them by fans.
Vijay shared a heartfelt note alongside wedding pictures, describing his relationship with Rashmika: “One day, I missed her… So, I made my best friend… my wife. 26.02.2026.” The personal reflections highlighted the deep bond between the two actors, resonating strongly with fans across India.
The Hyderabad reception, for which the Prime Minister was personally invited, is scheduled for March 4. The public and media attention on the couple’s wedding, from the intimate Udaipur ceremony to the viral photographs with PM Modi, has made it one of the most celebrated celebrity events of the year.
