Jana Nayagan Box Office: Vijay's Film Earns Over Rs 40 Crore on Day 1

Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan has made a strong start at the box office, recording one of the biggest opening-day collections of the year. Directed by H. Vinoth, the action entertainer earned an estimated ₹41 crore net in India on its first day of release, driven by an exceptional response in Tamil Nadu and solid performances in overseas markets. According to early trade figures, Jana Nayagan collected ₹48.27 crore gross in India on Thursday after being screened across 13,067 shows nationwide. International markets added another ₹30 crore gross, taking the film's estimated worldwide opening-day collection to ₹78.27 crore. With this performance, the film has come close to crossing the ₹80 crore global mark within just its first day in theatres, making it one of the strongest openings for an Indian film this year.

The Tamil version emerged as the primary contributor to the film's opening-day success. It reportedly earned ₹36.50 crore net from 7,585 shows, registering an overall occupancy of around 60 percent. The Tamil 2D version performed particularly well, recording 68.31 percent occupancy throughout the day. Morning and night shows witnessed the highest audience turnout, with occupancies of 73.85 percent and 73.31 percent, respectively, indicating sustained demand from moviegoers.
