There is a lot of buzz around Ajith Kumar's upcoming Tamil action-comedy Good Bad Ugly ahead of its release on April 10, 2025. According to a news report in The Times of India, the advance booking numbers for the film are impressive.
Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the film has achieved, as of today, advance booking sales of Rs 9.26 crore across India. Tamil Nadu, with a massive contribution of Rs 8.63 crore, is driving the craze. It also underscores Ajith Kumar's unparalleled fan base in the region, according to the report.
The report said the film has registered 726 fast-filling shows and 248 houseful shows in Tamil Nadu alone. This reflects the high anticipation among audiences, despite the actor's previous movie Vida Muyarchi having a chequered run at the box-office and receiving mixed reviews from the critics.
The occupancy rate in Tamil Nadu stands at an impressive 49.38%, with over 4.21 lakh tickets sold. Even excluding blocked seats, the gross remains strong at Rs 7.86 crore, indicating organic interest for the film that coincides with the Tamil New Year weekend.
Good Bad Ugly has already surpassed the advance booking numbers of recent Tamil blockbusters like Leo (Rs 5.93 crore) and Vidaamuyarchi (Rs 5.41 crore). However, it still trails behind Beast, which holds the record for the highest advance booking sales in Tamil Nadu.
The film's trailer, released earlier last week, has amplified the excitement surrounding the movie. Ajith Kumar's portrayal of three contrasting roles—the good, the bad, and the ugly — has intrigued fans, while the high-octane action sequences and stylish presentation promise a cinematic spectacle. Trisha plays the villain while Arjun Das is the antagonist.
Nationally, Good Bad Ugly will face competition from Sunny Deol's Jaat, which is releasing on the same date.
With advance booking numbers continuing to rise, Good Bad Ugly is poised for a massive opening day. The film's strong pre-release buzz, coupled with Ajith Kumar's star power, sets the stage for a potential blockbuster weekend.
