Ajith Kumar's Vidaamuyarchi set to stream on Netflix in March, to be available in 5 languages

Inspired from the Hollywood thriller Breakdown, Ajith Kumar's latest release is set to end its theatrical run and move to the small screens

Fans can soon watch Vidaamuyarchi from the comfort of their homes as Netflix has secured its digital streaming rights. The film is reportedly set to premiere on the platform on March 28, giving it a second chance to reach audiences beyond theatres.

Despite high expectations, the much-anticipated Ajith Kumar starrer did not perform well at the box office. While it had a strong opening, its collections eventually declined, failing to sustain momentum. Now, the filmmakers hope the digital release will reignite interest in the action thriller.

To reach a bigger audience in various areas, Vidaamuyarchi will be accessible on Netflix in many languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

Apart from its Netflix debut, Vidaamuyarchi has also reportedly secured a major television deal. Sun TV is said to have acquired its satellite rights and plans a grand premiere on April 14, coinciding with Tamil New Year. This move is expected to attract a massive television audience.

Meanwhile, actor Ajith’s next movie ‘Good Bad Ugly’ is expected to hit theatres on April 10.

Directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Lyca Productions, Vidaamuyarchi is inspired by the 1997 American thriller Breakdown. It follows Arjun (Ajith Kumar) and Kayal (Trisha Krishnan), whose road trip takes a terrifying turn when Kayal is abducted. Arjun must race against time to rescue her. The film also stars Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, Arav, and Ramya Subramanian.
