Aamir Khan Breaks Silence on Fake Coolie Criticism Rumors
Aamir Khan denies slamming Rajinikanth’s hit film Coolie amid viral fake news.
Aamir Khan’s team has categorically denied rumors that the Bollywood superstar criticized the Tamil film “Coolie,” in which he made a cameo appearance alongside South Indian legend Rajinikanth. The clarification comes in response to a widely circulated screenshot of a newspaper article falsely quoting Khan as saying the film lacked purpose and was poorly written.
In an official statement, Khan’s spokesperson declared, “Mr. Aamir Khan has given no such interview and has made no negative comments about the film ‘Coolie.’” The statement emphasized Khan’s deep respect for Rajinikanth, director Lokesh Kanagaraj, and the entire “Coolie” team, noting the film’s remarkable box office success, grossing over Rs 500 crore.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for acclaimed films like “Kaithi,” “Master,” “Leo,” and “Vikram,” “Coolie” was released on August 14, 2025. The star-studded cast includes Rajinikanth in the lead, with notable performances by Nagarjuna Akkineni, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and Shruti Haasan. The film, now streaming on Prime Video, has garnered significant acclaim, further debunking the fabricated claims against Khan.
