Drishyam 3 Earns ₹26 Crore Net In India In Two Days, Says Report

Drishyam 3 crosses ₹26 crore in India within two days of release.

The box office report pertains to the theatrical release of Drishyam 3, which is performing across multiple regions in India and overseas markets following its release on May 21. The Mohanlal-starrer continues the long-running Drishyam franchise and has attracted strong audience interest, particularly in Malayalam-speaking regions, while also seeing releases in other Indian languages.

The film, directed by Jeethu Joseph, registered a noticeable dip on its second day of release after a strong opening. On Day 2, it reportedly collected ₹11.05 crore net in India across 4,886 shows, according to Sacnilk. This marked a drop of over 30% from its opening day earnings of ₹15.85 crore. Despite the decline, the film maintained solid momentum, taking its total domestic net collection to approximately ₹26.90 crore and gross earnings to ₹31.18 crore within two days.

Region-wise performance shows that the Malayalam version remains the strongest contributor to the film’s earnings. On Day 2 alone, the Malayalam version reportedly brought in ₹9.85 crore net, supported by strong occupancy levels of around 61%. In contrast, other language versions saw comparatively lower turnout, with the Tamil version earning around ₹0.40 crore, Kannada ₹0.10 crore, and Telugu ₹0.70 crore, reflecting the film’s stronger appeal in its core market.

While domestic collections dipped slightly, Drishyam 3 has shown robust performance in overseas markets, which has helped balance overall earnings. On Day 2, the film reportedly earned around ₹20 crore internationally, pushing its overseas total to approximately ₹45 crore within two days of release. This strong international response has significantly boosted the film’s global box office standing.

Overall, the film’s worldwide gross has reached an estimated ₹76.18 crore in just two days, making it one of the stronger recent releases in the franchise. The sustained overseas performance combined with steady domestic turnout has contributed to its impressive early trajectory. Industry observers note that continued word-of-mouth and weekend audience turnout will be crucial in determining its longer-term box office success.

Drishyam 3 sees Mohanlal reprising his iconic role as Georgekutty, alongside returning cast members Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, and Asha Sharath. The film continues the suspense-driven storyline of the franchise, focusing on Georgekutty’s struggle to protect his family as new threats emerge from his past. As the third instalment in the popular series, it builds on the narrative established in Drishyam (2013) and Drishyam 2 (2021), both of which were major commercial and critical successes.
