Malayalam cinema heartthrob Unni Mukundan is set to take on the monumental role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an upcoming biopic titled Maa Vande. The announcement, made on the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday, has sent waves of excitement across the film industry and Modi’s admirers alike. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kranthi Kumar CH and produced by Maa Vande Movie, the film promises to be a cinematic tribute to one of India’s most influential leaders.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram and Facebook, Mukundan expressed his deep honor in portraying Modi. “Having grown up in Ahmedabad, I knew him first as my Chief Minister. Meeting him in April 2023 was a life-changing moment,” Mukundan shared. He described the role as both overwhelming and inspiring, emphasizing the film’s focus on Modi’s personal journey, particularly his profound connection with his mother, whose influence shaped his character and resilience.
Maa Vande aims to go beyond Modi’s political achievements, offering an intimate look at the man behind the statesman. Mukundan highlighted a personal anecdote from his 2023 meeting with the PM, where Modi’s words in Gujarati, “Jhookvanu Nahi” (Never Bow Down), left a lasting impact. “Those words have guided me through challenges,” he said, underscoring the emotional weight of the role.
