Mohanlal-Mammootty’s Patriot Crosses Rs 50 Crore Worldwide
Patriot crosses Rs 50 crore worldwide in two days of release.
The Malayalam spy-action drama Patriot, starring veteran actors Mohanlal and Mammootty, has registered a strong opening at the global box office, crossing the ₹50 crore mark worldwide within just two days of its theatrical release.
The film opened with a domestic net collection of ₹9.8 crore on its first day and followed it up with ₹6.15 crore on Saturday, taking its two-day India nett total to ₹16.15 crore. The steady performance indicates sustained audience interest, particularly in key urban centres and Malayalam-speaking regions.
Internationally, the film has performed even more strongly, earning around ₹15 crore on its second day alone. This pushed its overseas gross to approximately ₹31.50 crore, reflecting significant demand in Gulf countries and other major overseas Malayalam film markets where star-driven releases traditionally perform well.

With combined domestic and international earnings, the worldwide gross collection has reached ₹50.23 crore in just two days. The film’s performance places it among the stronger Malayalam openings of recent times, especially for a multi-starrer ensemble production.
Occupancy trends on day two showed moderate but stable audience turnout. The Malayalam version recorded an overall occupancy of 25.92% across 1,070 shows, indicating consistent footfall rather than a sharp drop after the opening day. Bengaluru led major regions with 152 shows and around 30% occupancy, while Kochi also reported similar levels across 134 shows.
Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, Patriot is a spy-action thriller featuring an ensemble cast including Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Revathi, Darshana Rajendran, and Rajiv Menon. The strong ensemble cast and cross-industry appeal have contributed to the film’s wide-ranging box office traction in its opening weekend.
