Mammootty-Mohanlal's Patriot Gets New Release Date: Spy Thriller to Hit Screens on May 1

Mollywood superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal’s upcoming action spy thriller Patriot has been postponed, with the makers announcing a new theatrical release date of May 1, 2026. The film was earlier scheduled to hit cinemas on April 23.

The update was shared by Mammootty on social media, where he confirmed that the film will now release worldwide on the revised date. The announcement has generated fresh excitement among fans, even as many expressed disappointment over the delay.

Earlier, the makers had issued a statement explaining that the postponement was due to unforeseen circumstances. They emphasised that the decision was taken to ensure the film reaches audiences with the highest possible quality, suggesting that additional time was needed for final production work.

The teaser of Patriot, released last year, had already built strong anticipation among audiences. Patriot is written and directed by Mahesh Narayanan, known for his acclaimed work in Malayalam cinema. The film boasts a star-studded ensemble cast, including Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Rajeev Menon, Revathy, Grace Antony, and several others in key roles.
