Yash’s ‘Toxic’ Release Postponed To June 4 Amid Middle East Tensions
Yash’s ‘Toxic’ release postponed to June 4 due to Middle East tensions; box office clash with ‘Dhurandhar 2’ avoided.
The release of Yash’s highly anticipated film, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, has been postponed to June 4 due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. Originally scheduled for a worldwide release on March 19, the film’s makers cited the “current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East” as a factor affecting their ability to reach global audiences.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is an action-thriller set in Goa, spanning the 1940s to the 1970s. Yash plays Raya, a gangster, and also co-wrote the film with Mohandas. The movie marks Yash’s first project following the blockbuster success of KGF: Chapter 2 in 2022.
Production houses KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations shared a joint statement on social media, emphasizing that the decision was made “in the interest of our partners and our audience.” They noted that the film was “conceptualized with the vision to create cinema for a global audience” and thanked fans for their understanding and support amid the postponement.

The Gulf region, a key market for the film’s multi-language release, is particularly affected by ongoing regional instability. Tensions intensified after the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iran on February 28, prompting retaliatory drone and missile attacks by Tehran on Israel, U.S. military installations, and the global hub of Dubai.
The rescheduled June 4 release also helps Toxic avoid a box office clash with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2, which had been lined up for the same March 19 date. The film’s ensemble cast includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria.
Shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, Toxic will also be released in dubbed versions across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, aiming for a broad multi-language global rollout that caters to fans across India and overseas.
