Yash's Toxic Crosses Rs 27 Crore in Advance Bookings Ahead of Release

Yash's Toxic crosses Rs 27 crore in pre-release advance bookings.

Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is heading towards its August 26 theatrical release with strong advance-booking momentum. The film has crossed ₹27 crore in domestic advance bookings, including blocked seats, with more than four lakh tickets sold across India in five languages. Excluding blocked seats, the advance gross stands at more than ₹18 crore, putting the action drama firmly under the spotlight ahead of its opening day.

Karnataka is driving the majority of the demand, contributing around ₹14.2 crore to the advance total, including blocked seats. Maharashtra follows with approximately ₹2.44 crore, while Gujarat has contributed about ₹1.74 crore. Bengaluru has emerged as the biggest city contributor with advance sales of nearly ₹8.89 crore, followed by Mysuru at around ₹97.27 lakh and Kalaburagi at approximately ₹55 lakh.

The language-wise figures show a clear preference for the Kannada version, reflecting Yash’s strong home-market following. Kannada 2D screenings have generated more than ₹9 crore in advance sales, while Hindi 2D has recorded the next highest demand. The Telugu version has seen comparatively lower traction at this stage. Other Karnataka cities, including Tumakuru, Shivamogga, Davanagere, Mangaluru and Belagavi, have also recorded advance bookings ahead of the release.

Standard 2D screenings account for the overwhelming majority of the film’s advance sales, while premium formats such as IMAX represent a relatively small share. Trade observers will be watching the final phase of pre-sales closely, as the remaining days could significantly increase the film’s opening-day figure. The current numbers also demonstrate that while Karnataka remains the core market, Toxic is attracting audiences beyond the Kannada-speaking region.

The advance figures are being compared with Yash’s previous release, KGF: Chapter 2, which recorded exceptionally high pre-release bookings before its 2022 theatrical debut. That film reportedly crossed ₹80 crore in all-India advance bookings, setting a significant benchmark for Yash’s next major theatrical release. Toxic has not yet reached that level, but its current pace provides the film with a substantial pre-release base before audiences begin watching it on August 26.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups stars Yash alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Akshay Oberoi and Sudev Nair. The gangster action drama has received an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. With advance bookings continuing across major markets, the final pre-release figures and opening-day performance will determine whether the film can convert its strong advance demand into a major box-office debut.
