Three Arrested in Faridabad Over Alleged Rape of 23-Year-Old Shooter

Authorities in Faridabad announced the arrest of three individuals, including a woman, in connection with the alleged rape of a 23-year-old female shooter at a local hotel. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, prompting swift police action following the victim's complaint filed at Sarai Khawaja police station. The accused were apprehended directly from the hotel premises and subsequently remanded to judicial custody after appearing before a city court.
The victim, a competitive shooter, had traveled to Faridabad on Tuesday accompanied by her female friend to participate in a shooting event. After concluding the competition on Wednesday, the duo contacted Gaurav, a local acquaintance of the friend, initially seeking assistance to reach a metro station. Gaurav arrived with his associate Satendra, leading the group of four to decide against immediate departure and instead extend their stay in the city overnight.
The group proceeded to book two rooms at a hotel, where they gathered in one room for a social gathering involving consumption of items brought to the premises. According to the complaint, around 9 p.m., the victim's friend accompanied Gaurav downstairs to procure additional supplies, leaving the shooter alone with Satendra in the room. It was during this interval that Satendra allegedly committed the assault.

Upon the return of her friend, the victim promptly disclosed the incident to another acquaintance via communication, demonstrating presence of mind by securing the room to confine the accused individuals inside. She then alerted law enforcement, resulting in the rapid deployment of a police team to the hotel. The responding officers effected the arrests of Satendra, Gaurav, and the female friend on site.
Station House Officer Rakesh Kumar confirmed that a formal case has been registered, with investigations ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the alleged crime. The arrests underscore the seriousness with which authorities addressed the complaint, ensuring immediate custodial measures for the accused pending further legal proceedings.
