Peacock Greenlights Scripted Fast & Furious Series, Vin Diesel Reportedly Involved
Two co-showrunners will also write the pilot and executive produce.
The Fast & Furious franchise is expanding to television, with Peacock giving the green light to a new scripted spinoff series based on the long-running action franchise. The series, which was first reported to be in development earlier this year, is currently scheduled to premiere in 2028 and will bring the property into a television format for the first time.
Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman have been appointed as the show’s co-showrunners, pilot writers and executive producers. Their involvement places them at the centre of developing the new series, which will serve as a television extension of the franchise known for its focus on street racing, high-speed action and ensemble characters.
The project is being developed as part of the wider Fast & Furious universe, which has grown into a major film franchise over the years. The television adaptation marks another expansion of the property beyond its established theatrical releases and comes as the franchise continues to build on its global popularity.

Vin Diesel is also involved with the television project, although further details about his role in the series have not been disclosed in the information currently available. Diesel has been closely associated with the Fast & Furious franchise since its beginning and has played Dominic Toretto throughout the main film series.
The announcement gives Peacock a new franchise-based scripted project as the streaming service prepares to bring the Fast & Furious brand to a different audience format. However, plot details, casting beyond the announced creative team and the characters expected to feature in the series have not yet been revealed.
The spinoff is currently targeting a 2028 premiere, with development expected to continue before production details are announced. Further information about the storyline, cast and connection to the existing films is likely to emerge as the series moves closer to production.
